I just had to add this close-up of the elephant so that I could brag on Jessica! He's just too cute.

Since Daniel liked his Alabama cake so much, he asked us to do a last-minute cake for his aunt's birthday just a couple of days later. All we knew was her name, CeCe, her mantra, "Live, Laugh, and Love," and that she's a fun-loving, light-hearted person. This is what she got. A little experimentation! All in all, I think it turned out alright. FYI: the blue's actually purple.

More pictures of the Wizard of Oz cake. These actually do it some justice (and have Michelle, the mastermind, in them!)

The finished product of the Alabama 29th birthday cake. I think it turned out pretty well and he really liked it. I think that's all that matters.

This is the detail work for the latest cake we've done. It was a birthday cake for a friend's boyfriend who was turning 29. Needless to say, he's a huge alabama football fan.

caking it up

So here it is... the official ShireBound Cake Company blog. Now, even you non- Facebookers can view our portfolio, see what projects we are currently working on, and even (hopefully) place orders with us. So, let the caking begin.

The very first fondant cake endeavor, October 2008. Could've turned out worse; definitely could've turned out better.
